T&T Materials' CEO Participates in Government Contracting Series
On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, the Monroe County Finger Lakes APEX Accelerator hosted another session in their Government Contracting Series at Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. The mission of this series is to assist and support regional businesses as they seek to successfully participate in the Federal procurement process. This season featured a panel discussion of four business leaders whose companies have extensive experience in supplying goods and services vital to our national departments and agencies.
Participating on the panel was James M. Terhune, Sr. Chief Executive Officer of T&T Materials, Inc. Joining Mr. Terhune was Ian Guger, Chief Operating Officer of Circle Optics, Inc., Jody McGarry from ABR Wholesalers, Inc. and Kevin White from White Boyz Snow Plowing & Landscaping. The topics discussed by the panelists were how to develop and maintain effective professional relationships with Federal procurement staff, the value of industry endorsed certifications and the need to exercise patience and persistence in your business strategy relative to government procurement awards.
Mr. Terhune and T&T Materials, Inc. has a long-standing history with the APEX Accelerator (formerly PTAC) and enthusiastically endorses its mission and has been a willing resource for previous informational sessions on Federal contracting. “When I began T&T Materials, Inc. the guidance and support that I received from this organization was certainly instrumental in our success.” Terhune observed. “My two decades of government contracting experience has allowed me to transition from protégé to mentor. If, by sharing what I have learned with the next generation of aspiring entrepreneurs it makes their journey a bit easier then my efforts have been worthwhile.”
Mr. Terhune also acknowledged the good works of the APEX Accelerator staff members, “These informational sessions and training opportunities require a dedicated and accomplished group of professionals, and we are very fortunate to have Anna Vulaj Fitzsimmons, Noel DeBruyn and Amber Stevens coordinating and promoting these group sessions as well as marshalling a broad array of resources to support all of us in the government contracting arena.”
